A Time to Paint

Our teenage daughter has been requesting a color change to her room for a long time now. (But honey, you chose that perfect pink when you were six and told us you would love it forever!) As she entered her first year of High School we realized that her time of being with us is getting remarkably shorter and if we're going to paint her room we'd better do it soon! So this summer we found the perfect bedspread (it was a collage package that came with several extras). Whatever she chose had to somehow incorporate the pink rug - cause sorry honey, that's just not in the budget!

We picked out paint in October and planned on painting her room for her birthday in November. Finally, this weekend, we were able to paint.

The younger girls got to spend the weekend at Grandma's while the older two helped us. I'm sure that painting is a skill they will use later in life :o)

I, of course, got all the tedious work of painting the trimming. And below are the results. Oldest DD chose a teal blue (Jamaican Blue I believe) for the walls and a chocolate brown for the trim. The colors look good together.

It's not necessarily something that I would choose - but I think it makes a good teenager's room.

Now if she would just keep it clean...
