Dr. Seuss Day
For unknown reasons Dr. Seuss Day in our school district has grown into an entire week of reading related activities. Fortunately I have never had to deal with a teacher wanting to serve green eggs and ham. This year the elementary school allowed the students to dress up as their favorite book character (a welcome expansion from their favorite Dr. Seuss character - just how many kids and adults do you need to dress as the Cat in the Hat?) Youngest DD decided to dress up as Junie B. Jones. I even cut her hair into bangs for the occasion. Of course, by the time she got to school she had re buttoned her shirt up correctly, and people weren't sure if she was dressed up or not. I think she was perfect for the part, she acts like Junie B. a lot anyway :o)
