Supernatural occurrences

Apparently we have a ghost in the house. Yes, we live in new construction. We live on what used to be an old soy bean farm, not an Indian burial ground. But, youngest DD believes the house is haunted. Have I seen this apparition? Not yet, but I'm close.

I entered the family room and saw candy wrappings all over the floor. "Daughter, did you eat all of this chocolate?"

"No, my ghost friend did it."

"Who drank all the juice boxes?"

"My ghost friend."

"You know those boxes are for school only!"

"I didn't do it! My ghost friend did!"

"Wait a minute. An Asian pear is missing! Did you...?"

"Mommy! My ghost friend ate it!"

Apparently it's a very hungry ghost. She also has a name. DD calls her Goleah. My daughter is a namer. She names all of her dolls - and she remembers the names. Her Bitty Baby was promptly named Sarah as soon as she opened the box, and she's never forgotten the name. Goleah has been her name for several things this fall, now it's become her ghost friend's name. Youngest DD is also the first of my four to ever have an imaginary friend. I think she feels the need for someone to blame :o)
