Rockin New Year's Eve

This year we decided to have a party - at the last minute. So, on the afternoon of New Year's Eve we walked up and down the block and invited the neighbors over. Three families came, a forth was sick, and the fifth actually did have plans for that evening.

So around 8 o'clock the party started - just a simple game party with munchies set out.

We tried Mexican Train with the dominoes.

The girls entertained us in the basement.

Eventually, it turned into a Wii party. For those wondering how this could be, we have found the Wii Fit to be great for groups. Instead of selecting your Mii character, select Trial. Then we allow everyone who wants to try it to select 3 events for their turn. Each event only takes up to a minute, so every one's turn is quick and it doesn't get boring for those watching.

We also had a bowling tournament alternating the four players for two different games.

We were so into the Wii we almost missed ringing in the New Year. About 5 minutes before midnight we looked at the clock and scrambled to get on the right channel to watch the ball drop. We made it just in time for the countdown :o)
