Easter dawned bright and COLD in our neck of the woods. For the very first time the DC got to hunt for their Easter baskets. It was DH's family tradition to set the baskets on the table so they were there the moment you appeared in the kitchen in the morning. The DC were a little surprised to see an empty table, but they quickly got into the spirit of the hunt. This is the tradition that I grew up with and I was glad to pass it on this year. Most of the hiding spots were relatively easy, with the exception of oldest DD's - her basket was hidden in the dryer :o)
DH was quickly dressed and out the door so he could practice with the worship team before church began. I got to struggle with the girls tights and hair curlers.
We had Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner. This year we broke tradition and cooked lamb rather than ham. The DC weren't too thrilled. They did, however, enjoy the pineapple gelatin mold. We got Grandma to try asparagus (I don't think she likes it yet.) The almond nut torte went over well for dessert.
Over all it was a blessed Easter, celebrating the Ressurrection of our Lord.
